RIM BlackBerry Curve 3G for Sprint Review

As usual, the RIM BlackBerry Curve 3G scored high marks on the performance section. Callers were amazed at how good we sounded, calling it “high def kinda stuff.” They said we were extremely clear and that they could hear everything, and rated us 9/10. Things were good but didn’t have the wow factor on our end. We could hear them just fine and they sounded perfectly natural. Battery life remains the same at 4.5 hours of talk time. read more →

    • Improved, more responsive trackpad
    • Better feel all around
    • Upgradable to BlackBerry OS 6
    • Display is low-res for a smartphone
    • Battery life could be better

    BlackBerry Curve 3G

Though we're disappointed that the RIM BlackBerry Curve 3G didn't have more improvements over its predecessor, it's still a decent upgrade with the addition of 3G and GPS. Plus, it's quite affordable for an entry-level smartphone. read more →

    • Slim profile
    • responsive optical trackpad
    • external media keys
    • Wi-Fi
    • stereo Bluetooth
    • Almost identical to its predecessor save for a few changes
    • poor photo quality.

    BlackBerry Curve 3G Review

Those looking for a smart phone that does the basics well will like this BlackBerry's comfortable keyboard and very low price.

For 30 bucks, the Curve 3G has some things going for it, including a very comfortable keyboard that you can type fast on, quick access to e-mail, and long battery life. None of these benefits are particularly exciting, especially compared to supercharged smart phones like the Droid 2, which combines a physical keyboard with a much better browsing and app experience. read more →

    • Good call quality
    • Speedy processor for a BlackBerry
    • Great QWERTY keyboard
    • Inexpensive
    • Quiet speakerphone
    • Outdated display
    • Web browser needs work
    • Runs older BlackBerry 5 OS
