Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is about to launch soon, and ahead of the official announcement by Qualcomm, the Geekbench Vulkan benchmark scores of the chipset have leaked on the internet. They suggest a significantly improved gaming performance as compared to the current generation chipsets on flagship Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Geekbench Score

Per Ice Universe, a known tipster, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC scores 15,434 points on the Geekbench 6 Vulkan benchmark. This score is way higher than any other Android phone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, including the most recent entry, the Nubia Z50S Pro, which scores 10,125 points on the same platform.

From what we know, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC features an Adreno 740 GPU, while the upcoming chipset is touted to feature the Adreno 750 GPU. Since the Geekbench Vulkan benchmark primarily focuses on graphics performance, it looks like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC will provide a significant upgrade in that area.

The Geekbench listing shared by the tipster also contains the codename of the chipset, “Qualcomm Pineapple for arm64,” which refers to the unreleased Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It is worth mentioning that the Geekbench score is in line with the Antutu score that surfaced earlier this year and suggested a significant improvement in the overall performance. We’re talking about a total score of 1.7 million points, much higher than the top-of-the-line Android gaming smartphones offer.

For those catching up, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC could debut at Qualcomm’s event in October. However, the company hasn’t confirmed anything at the moment. Further, the benchmark scores suggest the processor’s peak performance, and not all phones that feature it will provide the same performance on all smartphones.
