How To Register for Fancy Number?
To kickstart the process, head over to the centralized Vahan portal. While the steps may vary slightly depending on your state, the core procedure remains consistent. Here’s a simplified guide:
Step 1: firstly you need to register on the Vahan Fancy Number online portal and for that you need to provide details like your mobile number, state, name, and verification code.
Step 2: Once logged in, navigate to the number selection section. Choose your RTO to view available numbers from the current series and any remaining ones from the previous series.
Step 3: Select your desired number and proceed to register. You’ll need to input the application number, typically found in the SMS from Vahan or provided by your showroom or dealer during temporary registration.
Step 4: Enter the application number, and your details will automatically populate. Proceed to make the payment for the chosen number. Once completed, your application will be submitted, and you’ll await the auction process.
Ordering Your Number Plate: Auction Process and RTO Approval
Here are the next steps in the auction process:
Step 1: From Monday at 11 AM to Saturday at 4 PM, log in to your online account and place your bid in multiples of 1000. You’ll only pay this amount if your bid is successful.
Step 2: Upon winning the bid, you’ll receive confirmation via SMS and email. The RTO will then take approximately 2 days to process your number for permanent registration, provided you’ve paid the full bidding amount.
Step 3: Once the RTO process is complete, you’ll receive an SMS confirming approval. Simply contact your dealer to order your number plate, typically fulfilled within 2 days.
Consequences of Unsuccessful Bidding in the Auction Process
If your bid fails, don’t worry. Your initial payment, the base price, will be refunded to you promptly. Should you experience a bid loss, you can opt to try again for a new choice number by simply repaying the base price. Alternatively, if you prefer a random number, you can directly contact the RTO for assistance.
It’s essential to note that numbers 1 to 9999 are not all available at once; the RTO releases them in batches. Additionally, keep in mind that RTOs only open a limited number of sets at a time.
