In March, we will get two new smartwatches – the Oppo Watch X and OnePlus Watch 2. The former is slated to launch as early as February 29th in Malaysia and is the first to feature a round dial. However, what’s intriguing is the fact that the Oppo Watch X is the same as the OnePlus Watch 2. Did we catch your attention yet? Let’s read further to know exactly what the buzz is all about.

For starters, OnePlus Watch 2 is slated to debut at the MWC 2024 on February 26. Just a few days after on February 29, Oppo will announce its Oppo Watch X4 (or Watch X) on February 29th. Believe it or not, rumors suggest both are the same smartwatches and Oppo is rebranding the OnePlus Watch 2 as Oppo’s.

Tipster Chun Bhai (@chunvn8888) on X quoted the similarities between these two smartwatches coming from sibling companies. The only difference is the color options – OnePlus has a green variant while Oppo will get a golden or yellow color variant onboard. Of course, there are branding differences as well but that’s about it. There’s also the OS as a differentiating factor between both the watches since Oppo will go for Google’s WearOS whereas OnePlus will stick to its proprietary OS under the hood.

It seems like OnePlus Watch 2 will be available in India and North America while Oppo’s Watch X will target parts of Europe in terms of availability. Both the smartwatches are likely to be priced at par with Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 with a ballpark figure of $299.

Oppo Watch X Specifications (Expected)

Based on the previous iterations by reports, Oppo Watch X could flaunt a 1.43” OLED panel with a resolution of 466×466 pixels. Yes, that’s more than what the latest Amazfit Active Edge brought on board albeit both the smartwatches are targeted at different audiences.

Apart from that, Oppo Watch X is expected to run on Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC plus BES 2700 dual setup paired with 1GB of RAM, a 500mAh battery, 10W charging tech, and Bluetooth and dual 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi support.

OnePlus is actively marketing its OnePlus Watch 2 with ‘meticulous health monitoring’ features. There; ‘s also hype around its 100 hours of battery life thanks to a feature called Smart Mode aka a low-power mode.
