Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3, Surface Go 4, And Studio 2 Announced

Recently, Microsoft hosted the Surface launch event, where the company revealed a couple of software and hardware innovations. Among others, the three new Microsoft Surface laptops are some of the most noteworthy products. These include the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3, the Surface Go 4 2-in-1, and the Laptop Studio 2. Here’s everything you need to know about these devices, including their specifications, price, and availability.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3

The Surface Laptop Go 3 offers a 12.4-inch PixelSense touchscreen display with 148 pixels per inch resolution. It supports 10-point multi-touch inputs and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the laptop runs on Intel 12th Generation Core i5-1235U processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics and 8GB of RAM on the base variant (upgradable up to 16GB LPDDR5). The removable solid-state drive provides a capacity of 256GB.

Other features include up to 15 hours of battery backup, a 720p HD camera, Dolby Audio Premium speakers, and studio microphones for clear voice during video calls. The laptop also provides several ports, including a USB-C 3.2 port, a USB-A 3.1 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Surface Connect Port. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.1. Out of the box, the device runs on Windows 11 Home.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 costs $799 for the base variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The variant with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs $999. The device will be available in the United States from October 3, 2023. Users will get four options to select from, including Sandstone, Sage, Ice Blue, and Platinum.

Microsoft Surface Go 4 2-In-1

The Surface Go 4 2-in-1 is a device for businesses and enterprises. It offers a 10.5-inch PixelSense touchscreen display with a 220 pixels per inch resolution and a max brightness of 350 nits. Under the Magnesium casing is the Intel N200 chipset, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and three storage options starting from 64GB to 128GB and 256GB.

The device lasts up to 12.5 hours on a single charge, features TPM 2.0 for enterprise-grade security, and supports Windows Hello face sign-in. Other features include a 1080p FHD front camera, an 8MP FHD rear camera, studio microphones, and 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Audio. Connectivity options include a USB-C 3.1 port, a microSDXC card reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.1.

Unlike the Surface Go Laptop 3, the Surface Go 4 supports the Surface Pen and the Class Pen 2. Out of the box, the device runs on Windows 11 Pro or Windows 10 Pro. The 2-in-1 convertible device is available in Platinum finish, and its price starts from $579 for the 64GB variant. It will also be available from October 3, 2023.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 comes with a 14.4-inch PixelSense touchscreen display with a 200 pixels per inch resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass 5. Under the anodized aluminum casing, the laptop features Intel’s 13th Generation Core i7-13700H processor with Gen3 Movidius 3700VC AI Accelerator. With the capable processor, users also get GPU options, starting from Intel’s integrated graphics up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM.

One can also choose from three RAM options, including 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. Similarly, the storage options include 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. Regarding the battery life, users should expect up to 19 hours on models with Intel Iris Xe GPU and up to 16 hours on the Nvidia GPU variant with a 2TB SSD. Other features include a 1080p FHD front camera, speakers with Dolby Atmos, two USB-C ports (Thunderbolt 4, DisplayPort, PD), one USB-A 3.1 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Users also get Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth v5.3. The Surface Laptop Studio 2 also supports Surface Slim Pen 2. It runs on Windows 11 Home and comes preloaded with Microsoft 365 apps. About the price, the laptop starts from $1,999, which is slightly more than what one would have expected. Its availability is the same as that of the other Surface products.
