Alongside the launch of the Mi Mix 4 smartphone, Xiaomi unveiled the Pad 5 series – its first tablets in three years.

Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro features

The Pad 5 lineup consists of a vanilla plug-and-play Pad 5 as well as a Pad 5 Pro with both Wi-Fi and 5G capabilities. With Snapdragon 870 for the Pro and Snapdragon 860 for the Pad 5, these are two of the most powerful Android tablets available.

With an 11″ display and a 120Hz refresh rate, both tablets offer 2560×1600 pixel resolution. In addition to supporting Dolby Vision and HDR10, the 10-bit panels also feature TrueTone technology, which allows adjusting colors and brightness with respect to the ambient light.

In the tablet’s pill-shaped camera island lies a single 13MP camera, while the Pro has a 13MP main plus 5MP ultra-wide camera. The Pro 5G, on the other hand, upgrades the main camera to a 50MP sensor, while retaining the 5MP ultrawide unit.
The entire Pad 5 lineup is compatible with a magnetic keyboard cover and stylus, just like the iPad Pro 11 and Galaxy Tab S7.

The Xiaomi stylus weighs 12.2 grams, offers a 240 Hz sampling rate, and has two buttons on the side. Battery life on a single charge is 8 hours. It will come in three colors that match the Pad 5 paint jobs and is pretty much a typical accessory of its class.

Featuring an 8600mAh battery and fast-charging capabilities, this is the fastest tablet battery ever created. It is also extremely light – just over 510 grams – and thin – 6.86mm. The non-Pro Pad 5 has a bigger 8,720 mAh battery, but it’s downgraded to a 33W charger – still quite fast for a tablet.

MIUI is the interface, but it is optimized for tablets and has multi-screen support for over 300 apps, as long as they are opened from a Xiaomi smartphone. Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro also comes with four Dolby Atmos-tuned speakers – two on top and two on the bottom.
