Updated on April 10,2024: The release date section has been updated with the latest information.

In a blog post on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, Vivo’s Vice President, Jia Jingdong, confirmed the existence of the iQoo Z9 Turbo. The upcoming addition to the iQoo Z series will focus on gamers and performance enthusiasts, thanks to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC that provides excellent raw performance. Jingdong confirms the phone’s moniker and teases some key specifications that will help the brand differentiate the smartphone from the other models in the segment.

iQoo Z9 Turbo: Processor, Graphics Chip, And Heat Dissipation

In the blog post (translated from Chinese), Jingdong mentions that the iQoo Z9 Turbo significantly improves the mobile gaming experience for more people. “It is the first batch to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 flagship core,” Vivo’s VP writes. The upcoming smartphone should also be able to run heavy video games (thanks to a special independent graphics chip Turbo) and large-scale AI models.

Further, the handset will come equipped with a 6K VC heat dissipation technology, which the executive says is “the only one” in its segment. Last but not least, the post talks about the phone’s price, stating that it will lead to gaming performance in its segment. “The entire iQoo Z9 series will live up to expectations, from top to bottom,” Jingdong concludes the blog post.

Moreover, the blog post suggests that the iQoo Z9 Turbo will lead gaming performance thanks to several features, such as a powerful processor, dedicated heat dissipation, and a secondary chip for assisting the GPU.

iQoo Z9 Turbo Specifications (Leaked)

At the moment, iQoo has confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will feature a 6,000 mAh battery. The company has also teased the smartphone in an image revealing the presence of a dual camera in a module resembling the flagship iQoo 12 (review) camera island. Beyond this and the information shared above, we have a leak from the Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station.

The leakster claims that the iQoo Z9 Turbo will come with a 1.5K 144Hz OLED screen. Further, despite having a 6,000 mAh battery, the phone will only measure 7.98mm across. In previous posts, Digital Chat Station said the phone could come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Further, it could also arrive in different configurations with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

iQoo Z9 Turbo Release Date

Original: Rumors suggest that iQoo will release the smartphone sometime later this month, i.e., in April 2024. More details about the same should surface online soon.

Update: iQoo will launch the Z9 Turbo in its native market on April 24, 2024, at 7PM local time (04:30 PM IST). The Indian launch of the smartphone, however, has not been confirmed. Even so, there’s a good chance that the handset will arrive in India, albeit slightly latter than we expected.

iQoo Z9 Turbo Price (Expected)

The iQoo Z9 Turbo should be priced around Rs. 35,000 in India. At least one of the models should cost this much, while other models with higher storage and RAM could also be priced beyond Rs. 40,000.
