Google’s Pixel 6 Phones powered by Tensor SoC to launch on October 19

It was only yesterday, that we reported about the Pixel 6 Pro’s camera and video samples being leaked online, and today, we have an official date for the launch of the Pixel 6 Series. Google has finally announced that it will launch its Pixel 6 series of smartphones on October 19 via an online event. The event is being called, “Pixel Fall Launch” and the company is expected to launch 2 devices- Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro during the event.

The event will begin on October 19 at 10:00 AM PT, which means 10:30 PM IST. You can watch the event being live-streamed on YouTube and other online platforms.

“On October 19, we’re officially introducing you to Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro-the completely reimagined Google phones. Powered by Tensor, Google’s first custom mobile chip, they’re fast, smart, and secure. And they adapt to you. #Pixel6Launch,” Google posted on their Twitter account.

Pixel Fall Launch Event-What to expect?

The main focus during the event is going to be on Google Tensor, which is the company’s first SoC made for Pixel smartphones. Following Apple’s footsteps, Google too decided to up its game and stopped relying on Qualcomm anymore. Although not much is known about the Tensor chip, the reports suggest that it is a combination of performance and efficiency cores in the processor that does not fall in line with other similar processors configuration.

At the event, Google is expected to talk about its SoC at length along with other things about the Pixel 6 series. Speculations are rife that Google might also announce Android 12 for Pixel phones at the event. Google is also expected to preview its first foldable smartphone at the event, but everything else about it remains a mystery.

Pixel 6 Series Expected Price

Leakster M. Brandon Lee who had revealed about the October 19 launch date has also tipped about the price of the Pixel 6 series smartphones. According to his reports, Pixel 6 will be priced at €649 whereas Pixel 6 Pro will cost around €899.
