It’s that time of the year when Apple unveils what it has been cooking in its labs to the world. The Cupertino-based giant has announced a special “Time Flies” event for September 15.

But before you raise your hopes, know that this year’s event might differ from yesteryears. Let’s see what we mean and the devices expected to see the daylight on this day.

Apple ‘Time Flies’ Event

So, for reasons we all know, this would be a virtual event, streamable via apple.com. Mark your calendars for September 15, 2020, and set a reminder for 10 am PDT or 10:30 pm IST.

The difference doesn’t confine to that. Instead, the talk of the town is that the highlight of this stage would be the Apple Watch 6 and the new iPad. The hotly anticipated iPhone 12 lineup is said to surface a little later, prolly by October.

But, not everyone shares this sentiment:

Anyway, here’s a brief of what each of the flagship products could bring to the table.

Apple Watch 6 is expected to run on WatchOS 7 and sport features like Blood Oxygen tracker, mindfulness guide, improved water resistance, better battery life, among other things. The design will likely remain a lot similar although the screen might change to microLED and the crown could be a digital one.

Then, there are the purported specs of a new iPad Air 4 making rounds on the web. It could look like the iPad Pro, with an 11-inch Liquid Retina display, Face ID, in-display fingerprint scanner, four stereo speakers, one rear camera, and the A14 or A14X Bionic processor at the core.

Speaking of that processor, we can’t fully brush away the chance of the iPhone 12 series debut. This time around we might get to see 4 iPhone 12 models with 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.7-inch respectively.

The biggest of the lot, which carries the Pro Max moniker will likely bring 5G mmWave capability, while the rest stick to Sub-6 GHz frequency. On the design front, these are expected to resemble the iPhone 4. The display would be OLED with a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate on the Pros. Rest, there are rumors about the presence of LIDAR and the absence of earPods or power adapter in the box.

As for price, leaks and speculations hint at a starting price of $649 for iPhone 12, while the iPhone 12 Max could begin at $749, the iPhone 12 Pro at $999, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max at $1,099.

Needless to say, take these with a pinch of salt and we will have the actual details pretty soon.
